SMC RACE tomorrow, 28th Nov is ON!!
SMC Race tomorrow is on! Part of the new course is still under water so it was decided that the race tomorrow will be held at the old course starting at Gipps Road opposite Luton Smash Repairs, 152 GIPPS ROAD, SMITHFIELD.
Please note that we are still under COVID restrictions and there is no water station on the course. There is a water bottle table available close to the start/finish area for you to leave your own water.
Participations are for the fully vaccinated only and we please request you to show us your proof of vaccination when you arrive.

We are sorry to announce that the race today has been cancelled. Yesterday and last night’s rain has flooded the running course.
Sorry for inconvenience caused. Race is rescheduled for Sunday, 28th Nov.
We are so disappointed to make this decision but upon investigating the course, it is just so unsafe for the runners.
Those who can’t make it on the 28th, you may nominate an alternative race month for which you can participate.

As you are probably aware that currently, community sports are allowed on a Monday after reaching 80% COVID vaccination rate. The 80% vaccination rate is expected to be achieved over the weekend and it is possible that this Monday, 18th October, community sports can resume for the fully vaccinated.
We have been in communication with local council regarding requirements for a safety environment for all our runners and volunteers during the race. With only few days to prepare the new course and putting together the new COVID safety requirements, the October race may not be possible.
SMC committee has therefore decided that the first race for this season 2021-22 is on Sunday, 21 November 2021.
Registration will be opened as soon as we get a go ahead from the council. We will announce it on social media and on the website as soon as registration is open.
We thank you all for your cooperation, understanding and for your patience.
ON ANOTHER note, AGM will be held on 10 November 2021. Details of the general meeting to elect new SMC executives and general committee members will be posted very soon.
